Learn about Persona 5 Royal's Guillotine system, including Fusion Accidents, Fusion Alarms, and how to inherit skills and traits.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Combine two or more Personas to create a new one.
  2. 2
The resulting Persona inherits some skills from the ingredients.
  3. 3
The type of fusion (Normal x Normal, Normal x Treasure Demon, Treasure x Treasure) affects the outcome.
  4. 4
Fusion accidents and alerts (Fusion Alarm) can alter results.

Fusion Results:

  • Normal: Result Persona matches expected, inherits chosen skills, and receives an Arcana Burst.
  • Accident: Result Persona is random, inherits chosen skills, and does not receive an Arcana Burst.
  • Fusion Alarm: Result Persona matches, inherits more chosen skills, receives a bigger Arcana Burst, and may ask to mutate skills.
  • Fusion Alarm Accident: Same as a normal fusion accident.
  • Fusion Alarm Yellow Accident: Result Persona is random, receives no Arcana Burst, and mutates all skills to a predetermined trait and skillset.

Persona Traits (Royal):

  • Unlocked after entering the Museum Palace.
  • All Personas gain a 9th skill slot for inherent traits that affect your own skills.
  • Party members also gain a unique trait that can activate for the rest of the party.
  • Party member traits upgrade during third awakening.
  • During Guillotine fusion, the result Persona trait can be chosen from one of the ingredients or the result's default trait.
  • Treasure Demons add 3 traits to the fusion pool.
  • Traits cannot be altered after Guillotine fusion.
  • All traits are inheritable except for DLC (downloadable content — extra missions or items released after launch) persona traits.
  • Traits triggered by charging, countering, and Baton Pass activate every time.
  • Other damage-raising, cost-reduction, and party member traits activate at random.

Group Guillotine:

  • Unlocked when your Strength Confidant reaches Rank 1.
  • Combines 3 or more Personas with a preset recipe into one.
  • Personas with group recipes can only be made this way.
  • Group Guillotine can never result in a fusion accident.
  • Strength Rank 8 is required for recipes with 4 or more ingredients.

Lockdown:

  • Unlocked when your Strength Confidant reaches Rank 3.
  • A Persona learns a new resistance skill, chosen from its weaknesses.
  • If all weaknesses are covered, a random ailment resistance is chosen instead.
  • The rank of the learned skill scales off the current Persona level:
    • Lv. 1-25: Dodge X
    • Lv. 26-33: Evade X
    • Lv. 34-52: Resist X
    • Lv. 53-62: Null X
    • Lv. 63-74: Repel X
    • Lv. 75-99: Drain X
  • Adding incense grants bonus stats when Lockdown ends (Royal).
  • You can obtain incense from Kichijoji or Jose (Royal).
  • Fusion Alarm doubles stat gains from incense (Royal).

Electric Chair:

  • Unlocked after securing the treasure route in the Museum Palace.
  • Combines a Persona with a corresponding black item to produce a set weapon, armor, accessory, or skill card.
  • There is no limit on the number of itemizations per day (Royal).
  • Fusion Alarm alerts the results in different ways (Royal):
    • Normal: The sacrificed Persona creates the expected item.
    • Fusion Alarm: The sacrificed Persona creates a stronger version of the expected item.
Tips
  • Experiment with different Persona combinations to discover unique skills and traits.
  • Pay attention to the Arcana of the Personas you are fusing, as this influences the outcome.
  • During a Fusion Alarm, consider using it to obtain stronger Personas or items.
  • Utilize Lockdown to cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) your Persona's weaknesses and gain resistances.
  • Collect incense from Kichijoji or Jose to boost Persona stats during Lockdown, especially during a Fusion Alarm.
