Part 10

Run through the hallway as quickly as possible and enter the door on the north wall.

Heal yourself with a RATION (F3) before entering.

You will face Metal Gear, the ninth boss of the game.

To defeat Metal Gear, use PLASTIC EXPLOSIVES (F2) and place them on its feet in the order: R, R, L, R, L, L, R, L, L, R, R, L, R, L, R, R.

Avoid the lasers fired by the cameras moving along the wall.

Heal with RATIONS (F3) when needed.

After placing all 16 PLASTIC EXPLOSIVES, Metal Gear will explode, destroying the cameras and activating Outer Heaven's self-destruct system.

A timer will appear on the bottom of the screen, and an emergency message will display in a text box.

The door to your left will open. Heal yourself with a RATION (F3).

Enter the door to face your final battle against Big Boss.

Big Boss will monologue about your mission and his ambitions.

Diane will call (F4) with no clear strategy.

Use your ROCKET LAUNCHER (F2) to defeat Big Boss. 5-10 hits should be sufficient.

Use the crates for cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) from Big Boss's gunfire. BODY ARMOR will also reduce damage.

Heal with a RATION or two (F3) if necessary.

After the fight, smoke CIGARETTES (F3) to gain more time to escape.

The door on the north wall will open. Enter it.

Climb the leftmost ladder as instructed by Jennifer's brother.

Climb to the surface to witness a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) of Solid Snake escaping Outer Heaven as it explodes.

Solid Snake will call Big Boss's frequency to confirm Metal Gear's destruction and Operation Intrude N313's success.

Tune into a radio station reporting a large explosion at Outer Heaven around midnight.

The credits will roll, and the screen will fade to black.

A text box will display Big Boss stating it's not over yet and he will meet Snake again.

Congratulations, you have completed Metal Gear Solid.
