    Watch the opening (cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically)) and run out of the room.

    Look to your right and run forward to find a person being electrocuted.

    Go up to the cables, look left, and go through the doorway.

    Follow the person through another doorway into a storage area.

    Run up the stairs to find the person again.

    Run and jump over the electric cables, ducking under a falling pole.

    Continue forward to find an engineer. Help him with the hatch by pressing the action button to complete the 1st bonus objective.

    A person will say "Over here, I've found the exit." Fire will break out.

    Run up and you will be given a fire extinguisher. Aim it at the fire and press the shoot button to use it.

    Put out the first fire, then run forward and put out the next one.

    Look at the door on your left. Aim the fire extinguisher at that fire and put it out.

    Run into the room to find the cook. The cook will automatically grab the fire extinguisher after a while.

    Run to the phone and press the action button to save your game (checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death)).

    Run out of the room and go to the left.

    Keep moving forward to a set of stairs. Go up the stairs.

    A short (cutscene) will trigger. Wait until Gunny gives you the Bowing Automatic Rifle (B.A.R.).

    You can use the automatic gun emplacement near you, another on the next floor, or your B.A.R. to take down incoming planes. Using the gun emplacements is recommended.

    Ensure your controller settings are correct for aiming, especially if you use inverted axis.

    Keep firing at incoming planes until the USS California has been defended.
Tips
  • To complete the 2nd bonus objective, put out the fire in the doorway leading to the trapped man. Inside, put out the other fire blocking part of the room. A film canister is in this room but not required for the medal.
  • Learning where planes come from is useful. Don't continuously fire, as it lowers accuracy.
  • Planes may appear suddenly, so be ready to fire.
