Navigate the administrative sections of the hotel on the second floor of Lorelei and the Laser Eyes. Find codes, keys, and solutions for puzzles in the Foyer, Exhibition rooms, and more.
The second floor houses more administrative aspects of the hotel, including some information on what's gone on here in the past.
Here's the map. As with others, I've marked some "spaces" with the same number to indicate they're a contiguous space, at least as far as the map system sees it.

Foyer, 2nd Floor
The second floor of the Foyer is actually split into several isolated areas. What we'll call the "main area" is the north and west area of the foyer, accessed initially from the Foyer, 1st Floor stairs. There are three exits from this walkway:
- Straight north from the stairs to the Exhibition, Sculpture room, but a stanchion initially blocks the way. This moves aside once you visit Room 2014.
- West from the stairs down will bring you to another set of stairs leading up to the 2014 Hallway, 3rd Floor.
- South from _those_ stairs to the southwest corner brings you down to the Front West Hallway.
What is the code for the Locked Door in the northwest of the Foyer, 2nd Floor? This is a Movie Poster puzzle, so it's partly randomized. Please go to that section.
What is the code for the Locked Door in the southwest of the Foyer, 2nd Floor?Another Movie Poster puzzle.
You can access the east side of the Foyer from the Front East Hallway to the south. More doors here.
What do I do with the Winch? From this you will get the W-Shaped Key.
- Hint One - A simple hole in the winch means you'll need something else to insert and operate it. Explore to find this item just lying around.
- Solution - The Crank found in the Back Yard will fit in the slot. Use it to lower the chandelier, then go down to the Foyer, 1st Floor to reach the chandelier.
How do I unlock the 1953 Door?
Unlocking the 1953 Door will give you access to Room 1953.
- Hint - All Year Doors (that are not 1847, 1963, or 2014) have their keys found in the same place, although you're liable to just stumble across them rather than seek them.
- Go here for more information.
How do I unlock the Spades Door?
Unlocking this door gives you access to the Investigation Room.
- Hint One - Where the card suit doors are concerned, giving hints is a bit tough. Some wandering and exploration is necessary.
- Hint Two - Finding something that represents Spades is a start, but a card won't open this door.
- Solution - Find the Ace of Spades in the Fortune Teller's Tent, then go to Teatro Rosso and exchange it with the Magician on the stage for the matching Key.
- More hints here.
How do I unlock the eight-character Roman Numeral door in the northeast?
Unlocking this door gives you access to the Library Office, 2nd Floor.
- Hint One - This isn't the case of finding the answer in some deeply buried location. Honestly, you probably already have the answer to this one in your possession.
- Hint Two - Have you checked your book on Roman Numerals, found in the Library? Only one example that's eight characters in that one.
- Solution - MCMLXIII
Exhibition, Sculpture
The art exhibition begins here, just north of the stairs in Foyer, 2nd Floor. Obviously the room is dominated by the large bust statue in the middle. Exits include:
- West to Exhibition, Paintings (below)
- North to the Back Exit.
What is the code for the east Locked Door?Unlocking this door gives you access to the Exhibition, Boxes. (below)
- Hint One - All you need to know is in the room.
- Hint Two - The keypad is three-by-three, so the hint must also be a three-by-three grid.
- Hint Three - The hint is that giant sculpture. The code is five buttons, each of the letters.
- Hint Four - You've seen a name with these letters before.
- Solution - The solution is "RENZO", but the letters on the sculpture are randomly placed. Match the placement of each letter with the keypad, in order, spelling "RENZO".
Exhibition, Paintings
Accessed from Exhibition, Sculpture, this room displays a series of symbol paintings. This is useful information, but there are no puzzles here, nor any other exits.
Exhibition, Boxes
This room is accessed from Exhibition, Sculpture, having unlocked the door. On display here are nine puzzle boxes of various shapes and sizes.
How do I open the Puzzle Boxes?
- Hint One - As you might expect, this one's going to take some information gathering.
- Hint Two - Note the odd designs of the boxes. Can you find those designs elsewhere in the hotel?
- Hint Three - Also read the nearby sign, suggesting that the answers can be found "elsewhen".
- Solution - To open the Puzzle Boxes, you'll need information taken from the various Year Rooms.
- Go here for more hints.
Back Exit, 2nd Floor
Traveling north from Exhibition, Sculpture, you'll reach this hallway. There's a Computer here, and the only unlocked exit is west to the West Back Hallway, 2nd Floor (below). To the east is a Shortcut Door.
How do I unlock the Entrance Door?
- Hint One - The nearby poster has all the info you need.
- Hint Two - Might be tough to make out but those ARE the ten digits on the poster. Also checking the poster reveals a Roman numeral.
- Hint Three - The Roman numeral is 1847.
