Reception Desk

Upon entering from the Front Yard, there are no puzzles in this room. Exits include North to the Foyer, 1st Floor; East to the Elevator Hallway, 1st Floor; and down the stairs in the northeast to the Basement. You are led to a door on the west, which you can listen to, but it has no effect. A notice board in the northeast corner provides hotel attraction information.

Reception Office

This room is accessible only after visiting the 3rd Floor once and returning to the Reception Desk. After a scene, the office opens, containing a Computer, a telephone, and a telephone directory. You can also access the backside of the Reception Desk.

• Telephone: Dial room numbers to call rooms in the hotel. Numbers from the directory or found elsewhere can also be dialed.
• Surveillance Monitor: This puzzle involves trial and error using two dials. The left dial's marker should be at roughly 4 o'clock. The right dial has no marker, requiring slow adjustments. Solving this leads you to an Easel in the Front Yard with a clue for another puzzle.
• Locked Key Cabinet: The solution is 1962. This opens the cabinet and yields the Room 2014 Key.

Elevator Hallway, 1st Floor

Located east of the Reception Desk, this hallway contains an elevator cage and an Espresso Machine. There is a Movie Poster puzzle for the Locked Door, which is partly randomized and detailed elsewhere. To fix the Elevator:

• Call for assistance using the posting near the elevator.
• You need access to the Reception Office to solve this.
• Find the name on the posting, search for it in the telephone directory in the Office, and call the number on the phone in the Office.
• After the conversation, leave and return to answer the phone.

Fixing the elevator grants access to Elevator Hallway, Basement; Elevator Hallway, 2nd Floor; and Elevator Hallway, 3rd Floor.

Foyer, 1st Floor

This large room is likely your first destination after the Reception Desk. Exits include a passage west to the West Small Hallway, northwest to the Foyer Passage, north to Foyer, 2nd Floor via stairs, northeast to the Library, 1st Floor, and east to the East Small Hallway. The puzzle here is the Document Tube in the southeast shelf.

• Document Tube: This puzzle is partly randomized and detailed in the Document Tubes section. Solving it provides the map of the 1st Floor.

Foyer Passage

A small area northwest of Foyer, 1st Floor. There is a Locked Door here which is part of a Movie Poster puzzle, detailed elsewhere.

Library, 1st Floor

Accessible from Foyer, 1st Floor or the Basement stairs. The only other exit is a spiral staircase in the northeast to Library, 2nd Floor. Perusing the books on the floor and tables is recommended, but there are no puzzles in this room.

West Small Hallway

A small space, likely first accessed from Foyer, 1st Floor. The only other exit is a locked door to the west marked with a large "W".

• W Door: The key is nearby. Exploration is recommended.
