Explore Halo 2 Campaign mode for single-player or co-op, and master Xbox Live for online multiplayer matches.
Campaign
Campaign mode is the core experience for most Halo 2 owners, designed for single-player where you play as Master Chief to save Earth. The story progresses as you play, eventually granting access to the Covenant. Campaign mode can also be played in co-op with a friend on the same Xbox console, but it is not available on Xbox Live. There are 13 levels in total. Beating the campaign on Legendary difficulty rewards an extra map, Foundation, which has since been released publicly.
Xbox Live
Xbox Live is the ultimate way to get the most out of your Halo 2 purchase, allowing you to play online games in various modes under ranked conditions, custom games, or training grounds. You can matchmake against opponents of similar ranking or practice with your own custom settings and parties of friends. Parties are formed by inviting online friends to join your group, and they will stay together as if you were playing locally. This feature requires an Xbox Live subscription.
Profile
The Profile section is where you create your character's basic appearance for online play and save your custom settings. You can design a custom avatar with various colors, symbols, and backgrounds. Profiles are used to store user-specific settings, such as controls and visual displays.
