Find the Cockroach Queen in Grounded 2's Toxic Anthill. Learn her attack patterns, recommended tactics, and discover valuable rewards like the Gloom Skewer and Toxic Anthill Optical Disk.
Walkthrough
- 1Locate the Toxic Anthill entrance on the border between the Picnic and Snackbar regions, near the black pool. You can access it from under the picnic table or the ridge on the Snackbar side.
- 2Navigate through the cave. The Cockroach Queen is at the back and will become hostile when you approach.
- 3Before entering the final boss room, defeat any nearby Cockroach Nymphs, as they will join the fight and can be a significant distraction.
- 4In the boss arena, be aware of the Queen's attacks: slamming the ground, swipe attacks, and spraying bubbles that cause Sizzle build-up.
- 5If the Queen sprays bubbles, move to a different area to avoid Sizzle build-up and burning.
- 6When the Queen stands on her hind legs, she will slam down. This is a prime opportunity to parry her and stun her.
- 7Phase 2 begins when her head falls off. Her attacks will focus more on Sizzle build-up. This is a good time to use ranged attacks.
- 8Continue to dodge, weave in attacks, and finish her off.
Tips
- Consider using the Sizzle set to counter the boss's resistances, though a Tier 2 set with good Defense is generally sufficient.
- A shield, like the Ladybug Shield, is highly recommended for parrying the boss's telegraphed attacks, especially the ground slam.
- The boss can sometimes get stuck at the cave entrance, which can be exploited for Phase 2 using arrows.
- 7x Roach Chunks
- 1x Roach Head
- Toxic Anthill Optical Disk: Grants 1000 Raw Science upon submission and unlocks Acorn Stairs, Ladder, and Teeny Terracotta (each costing 1500 Raw Science).
- Gloom Skewer: A Tier 2 spear with high critical hit chance and good damage, found behind cuttable mushrooms at the back of the boss room. It offers two bars of damage, stun, 7.5 bars of speed, and 4.5 bars of crit chance.
