GoldenEye 007 (1997 game)

Hey there! So you've picked up GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64? Awesome choice! This game is a legend for a reason. Developed by Rare and published by Nintendo, it dropped on August 23, 1997, and it's based on the 1995 film starring Pierce Brosnan as James Bond.     Training:
    1. Grab the P99 and proceed to the firing range.

    Use the Reload button to arm the P99 and complete shooting exercises: shoot the first target, then five more.

    Aim at the red circle and shoot the bullseye, then repeat for five more targets.

    Note that holding L2/LT aims at the nearest target.

  • Mission 1: Arkhangelsk - Dam/Northern Dvina River:
    1. Objective: Infiltrate the Dam - Secure Transport and then infiltrate the dam.
      • Sneak up on two guards with Agent 006; perform stealth kills.
      • Follow 006 to the next hiding spot.
      • When the guard warms his hands by the fire, perform a stealth kill and acquire the AK-47.
      • Sneak up the stairs and eliminate the snipers.
      • Use the sniper rifle to eliminate guards by the truck.
      • Kill four more guards crossing the bridge.
      • Follow 006 to the truck and get in the passenger seat.
      • Shoot enemies during a fast-paced driving sequence.
      • When an enemy grabs your gun, press L2/LT to push them away.
      • Shoot the gas truck blocking the path.
      • After the truck crashes and 006 bails, you will be helped out of the wreckage.
      • Observe a giant airship and drop into the elevator shaft.
      • Press R3/RS for a breach attack and shoot three guards in slow motion.
    2. Objective: Gather Intel on the EMP Hardened Helicopter - Locate the EMP Hardened Helicopter and send photographic intelligence of it to MI6 (3 photos needed).
      • Head left from the top of the stairs and use a headshot on the guard.
      • Before going downstairs, eliminate as many guards as possible from the balcony.
      • Shoot the lock on the far left door and enter.
      • Go down the ladder and follow the path to another ladder.
      • It may be easier to get spotted to reach the next checkpoint, as a locked door will open with arriving backup.
      • After clearing the area, proceed through the newly opened door.
      • Shoot a red barrel to cause an explosion and eliminate nearby enemies.
      • Head down the stairs and enter the door, eliminating the guard and any other enemies inside.
      • Fight your way to the elevator and press the green button to go up.
      • Headshot the first guard, and wait for the other two to finish their conversation before sneaking up on them or headshotting them.
      • At the top of the stairs, press down on the D-pad and take three photos of the Helicopter.
    3. Objective: Infiltrate the Dam - Secure Transport and then infiltrate the dam. (Again)
      • The enemy is now aware of your presence.
    • Tips
    • When aiming at targets, holding L2/LT will automatically aim at the nearest target.
    • Pressing the Crouch button allows you to take cover.
    • Holding the Aim button while in cover allows you to take out targets.
    • Equipping a silencer (by pressing down on the D-pad) is optional but can aid in stealth.
    • The Field Manual may pop up and interfere with stealth takedowns.
    • Using the R3/RS button for a stealth kill is effective when close to an enemy.
    • Shooting red barrels can create explosive chain reactions to eliminate multiple enemies.
    • Getting spotted in certain areas might be advantageous to trigger enemy reinforcements and progress through locked doors.
    • Completion of the Training section unlocks further missions.
    • Gathering intel on the EMP Hardened Helicopter progresses the Arkhangelsk mission.
