Learn about the Mog Clock Encounter in final fantasy xiii 2. Enemies are marked on the minimap and can be frozen with a pre-emptive strike if you act fast.
Walkthrough
- 1When not in battle mode, enemies will randomly spawn next to you, and the Mog Clock will appear below your protagonist. These enemies are marked on the minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen) as red dots.
- 2The Mog Clock has two segments: green and yellow. While the counter is green, spawned enemies are unable to move, allowing you to secure a Pre-emptive Strike by hitting them with your weapon.
- 3If you do not wish to fight, run away so that no enemies are within the encounter circle.
- 4If the counter on the Mog Clock enters the yellow zone, the enemies begin to move and will try to engage you in battle. If they touch you, battle initiates with no advantage for either side.
- 5Some enemies have the ability to charge immediately when they spawn, giving you little time to react.
- 6If the Mog Clock runs out while you are still in the enemy’s encounter field, battle starts automatically, and you will be unable to restart the battle.
- 7If you secure the Pre-emptive Strike, some enemies will get a 20% bonus to their Stagger Gauges, and the party begins the battle with the Haste buff in effect.
Tips
- Act quickly to hit enemies while the Mog Clock is green to ensure a Pre-emptive Strike.
- If you see enemies spawn, check the minimap for their location.
- If you are not prepared for a fight, disengage by moving away from the encounter circle before the clock turns yellow.
