Basic Controls and Hotkeys — Factorio Guide

Master essential Factorio controls and hotkeys for movement, interaction, mining, crafting, building, and UI navigation.

Movement: W, A, S, D. Interact: Left Click. Mine: Q. Open Inventory/Crafting: E. Rotate Building: R. Delete Building: Right Click (hold). Copy Building Settings: Shift + Right Click. Paste Building Settings: Shift + Left Click. These are your most fundamental controls. Mastering them will significantly improve your efficiency.

Utilize the quickbar (numbers 1-0) to quickly select items. Press Alt to toggle detailed information overlays, which are incredibly useful for seeing production rates and resource levels.
