    At The First Step, talk to Varre and interact with the Site of Grace. Collect the Golden Effigy, a multiplayer item, near a Statue Of Marika (these act as checkpoints and summoning points).

    Head north to the Church of Elleh. You can upgrade weapons here. Speak with Merchant Kale and consider purchasing a Torch and cookbook.

    Continue to Agheel Lake North and rest at the next Site of Grace to receive the Spectral Steed Whistle from Melina, allowing you to summon your horse, Torrent.

    Return to the Church of Elleh. Rest at the Site of Grace and speak with Renna. If you have the Spectral Steed Whistle, she will give you the Spirit Calling Bell and Lone Wolf's Ashes, enabling ally summons when the tombstone icon is visible on the HUD (heads-up display).

    Proceed to the Gatefront Ruins, using your Lone Wolf ashes against the approximately 12 soldiers and one captain. Examine the glowing pillar in the center to obtain the Limgrave West Map. Open treasure chests on the back of large carriages for a Flail and a Lordsworn Greatsword.
