This stage is the ultimate test of your skills as you cannot trivialize the stage by using items. While that may sound restricting and Lu Bu feels impossible to beat at the start, he is not that hard. The best tip is to take it slow and make this a turn-based fight. You and Lu Bu will take turns hitting each other. Stay just far enough from his attacks, block them, or evade them (much easier now since you are far away). You will lose some Bravery when blocking, but who cares. Some moves are unblockable, however, so be careful of those.
While you cannot use items, you can still use tactics. The problem is that by the time tactics are ready to be deployed, Lu Bu will probably have killed all your bodyguards. So you should equip 'Order to Defend' and order your bodyguards to stay in a corner while you go fight Lu Bu. It will show you have 0 bodyguards, but in reality, they are all still alive in that corner you ordered them to defend. This is not really needed but can help you out if you are struggling.
After the other 2 tactics are charged, you can re-order them to come help you. The other 2 tactics should be on a relatively short timer like less than 5-6 minutes, which is usually how long this fight takes using the staying away strategy. 'Stone Throw', 'Ceaseless Fury', 'Charge', and 'Encirclement' are all viable. Also, remember that you are invincible while deploying tactics; you can use this to avoid some attacks you have trouble dodging.
The videos shown here are not time runs or no-injury runs, just your average player vs. Lu Bu using different weapons, and I made plenty of mistakes.

Some things to watch out for:
- Try not to use Valiant Steed Blitz if Lu Bu has more than 5 Fortitudes. Because you will be on your horse when you land, and you will be vulnerable if Lu Bu is not downed with 0 Fortitude.
- Can use Sky Blaze after your typical Nx5 + Strong spam combo to finish off the last 1-2 Fortitudes.
- If you are not using air combos, Lu Bu can recover in the middle of your Nx5 combo, so be prepared to dodge when that happens.
- Power Shot is a must as it can counter over a long distance. But do not press any directional input when you use it. It has auto-aim if you are at least facing Lu Bu's direction.
- 2 of his moves can be a bit hard to avoid. First is he jumps in the air and charges at you diagonally. You should evade or parry when you see him charging down. This move is unblockable.
- 2nd one: he is standing still and spams red waves over and over. If you are too far to parry that, just block. And be ready to counter him after he is done spamming the waves.
- He has a red attack that charges and grabs you; just evade backward when you see him charging. Get some distance from him will make this a lot easier.
- Same with his triple red charge slam attacks; if you stay away from him far enough, it will be much easier to evade them. Which is the point of this whole stay-away strategy.

This is my first Lu Bu video. Pretty bad, I know, haha. But I still put it here to compare to the others I made down the road. This is an early weapon that I used. The new version I replaced the 'not consume Bravery' and 'charge attack +10%' with 'Wushu damage' and 'Assault damage +10%'.
