Master Conton City in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2! Learn about character data carry-over, new game modes, side quests, challenge quests, and advancement tests to progress through the story.

After the scenes, you'll be back in Conton City. It's time to take advantage of your carried-over character data from Xenoverse 1. After a scene, you'll see a screen where you can select from all your created characters from the first game. If you don't have a carried-over save, you can choose from premade characters but without any bonuses. The character you choose will be identified as the Toki Toki City Hero and will appear in cutscenes later. You'll also get all of that character's equipped skills and equipment, along with some Zeni and TP Medals.

BEWARE OF 2 THINGS: First, certain skills won't be carried over and will be traded for TP Medals and Zeni. Second, the option to carry over character data is available only once in the entire game. You can't do it again even by creating a new character, but you can redo it by deleting your save data (all of it) and starting a new game.

After doing this and watching the following scenes, it's time for a few more main quests. During this time, the game will formally introduce several game modes such as Parallel Quests, Class Tests, and Challenge Quests (explained in this guide in the Conton City guide section). To start things off, now might be a good time to input any attribute points you've earned and equip any new equipment from your carried-over character. You should now have access to all nearby shops, including the TP Medal shop (only on Friday to Sunday). Press Square or the equivalent button to use your vehicle; this will unlock a new trophy. You can now access Instructor Events, which are similar to Masters in Xenoverse 1 but different. Besides this, you have 1 new side quest and 2 main quests that are not related to the Time Patrol.

For now, ignore instructors and use your map. Go west towards Orange Star High, where the blue event mark is, and speak to Sanud. She will challenge you to a fight. Beat her to earn your first Dragon Ball.

Now go over to Old Kai, with the red scroll over his head, and you will be given a tutorial. After that, speak to him one more time to begin Challenge Quests. Complete all 13 to earn a trophy. Be warned that No. 13 is incredibly difficult due to your opponent recovering too fast; as a result, many assume it's broken. However, it is possible to clear it, but it may take you a few hours of practice. Doing the Challenge Quests is completely optional at this point, and you do not need to do it now, but it may be in your best interest to do it now as it will increase your Training Level.

After that, speak to the Advancement Test desk robot next to Old Kai and complete any and all available tests. You will be made to fight 3 or more opponents in each. This is again optional, but you get a trophy for finishing at least the Easy Advancement Test. More on this in the Conton city guide.

Now feel free to speak to any instructor available. This part is also optional. The available Masters as of now are: Krillin, Yamcha, Tien, and Piccolo. You can find them on the map. Once you're done with everything else, make your way to the next red scroll for the next main quest. Talk to the Parallel Quest robot and start the first quest, which is basically a Parallel Quest tutorial.

Once you're done, make your way to the hologram of the Toki Toki City Hero and speak to Supreme Kai of Time with the red scroll over her head. Now, whenever you're ready, make your way to the new red scroll at the Time Nest and speak to Old Kai. There are new Parallel Quests available as well. Either way, do whatever you want until you're ready to continue the story. When you speak to Old Kai, he will give you 2 options: Earth's or Namek's history. For convenience, this guide will start with Earth. So, choose the first option if you do not mind.
