Boss: N. Cortex

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Boss: N. Cortex
• Weakness: Direct spin attack
• Required Item: Jetpack (from levels 22 and 24)

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Chase and Dodge

   You'll start off in the same jetpack you used in levels 22 and 24. Your main goal here is to catch up to N. Cortex. He'll be flying ahead of you, and the path will be littered with asteroids and mines. You absolutely need to avoid these! Getting hit will slow you down considerably, making it harder to close the gap.

2. Phase 2: Attack!

   Once you manage to catch up to Cortex, it's time to attack. The only way to damage him is by hitting him with your spin attack. Just fly right into him while spinning!

3. Phase 3: Repeat and Win

   You'll need to repeat the chase and attack sequence two more times. That means three successful spin attacks in total will defeat Cortex and win you the fight. After that, you can enjoy the ending cutscene!

Strategy:

• Focus on dodging the asteroids and mines first and foremost. Speed is key to catching up.
• Don't get discouraged if you get hit; just re-center your focus on catching Cortex.
• Once you're close enough, don't hesitate to hit him with the spin attack.
• After defeating Cortex, remember that collecting all the gems will unlock a secret ending!
