Follow this Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night guide to navigate the 'A Song of Water and Sand' section, detailing enemy encounters like Axe Outsiders and Seekers, and finding all Blue Chests.
The next section is a bit frustrating because you’ll need to farm to get a particular shard to proceed, but once you’re through that, it’s smooth swimming.
Before that, head back to the castle entrance and find the large room with the blood fountain in it. Get in the middle of the fountain and use the Blood Steal shard to remove all of the blood. This will reveal a secret passage leading downward in the middle of the fountain. In that tall room, drop to the bottom and go through the doorway on the left side.
This will bring you to a section of the Underground Waterway. You’re in a long hallway leading left and the first thing you’re going to encounter is a new enemy: the Axe Outsider.
New Enemy: Axe Outsider
The Axe Outsider is sturdy. He has very little in the way of defenses and the axe he throws travels slowly so you have plenty of time to get in for attacks. You’ll likely be able to finish him off before his axe comes back around. The trick is not finishing him before then but avoiding the axe on the return trip. It tends to curve a bit on either end of its travel path and especially so if the thrower is no longer there. Aside from the decent chunk of damage the axe does that one time, this enemy isn’t much of a threat. With any luck, you’ll grab the _Throwing Axe_ shard.
Get in and attack the Axe Outsider. Try to get him finished quickly but, most importantly, avoid his axe. After you defeat him, you’ll want to watch out for the handful of bats behind him. Not long after the bats will be another Axe Outsider. You’ve already seen this pony’s one trick so take him out and carry on.
Go through the doorway at the far left side of the room to enter another tall room. Note the Archdemon in front of you before you hop across and go through the doorway immediately to your left. Pass through this small room to enter the bottom of another tall room. Climb this and exit through the left door. You'll enter a long room with water along the bottom. This is the room that connects to the area under the drawbridge in front of the castle. Go to the left and open the Blue Chest (#20) on the ledge above the water before returning back the way you came.
Ignore the door on the left and face down the Archdemon in front of you. This is not drastically different from the Demons you faced earlier, but his attacks are more aggressive, so be careful. Go down and go through the next doorway on the left to find a _Save Room_. Just watch out for the Poison Toad.
After you’ve saved, go back into the previous room, check the Bookcase (#21), and drop down another level. Go through the door on the left. Drop down in this new tall room to face an Archdemon. When he’s defeated, drop down a level and you’ll have an eyeball called a Seeker to deal with.
New Enemy: Seeker
This one’s a bit weird, but it’s also a bit frustrating. This little guy usually only moves in one direction at a time. He moves fast but he thankfully takes a moment if he plans on changing directions. It can travel along walls and ceilings as well as floors if it so chooses. It’s predictable, but its surprising speed can cause problems, and if you make a mistake, you could find yourself turned to stone. The toughest part of dealing with this is that it moves fast and has a small profile. Unlike bats or Dullahammer helmets which come at you in the middle of the screen, this travels along the outside of the space you can travel, making it quite difficult to line up an attack. Try to attack it from a surface that it is not currently attached to and you will be safe and better able to line up your attacks. The Seeker has a nifty shard called _Detective’s Eye_ which creates a circle around Miriam that allows her to see any breakable walls.
Kill this first Seeker. Drop down a level to find another Seeker next to a doorway. Enter the doorway. Equip some boots and slide your way across the floor to deal with the Poison Toads and Bats in the room. There’s also a Seeker that will start on the left side and roll around the ceiling towards you. Go to the left end, loot the Blue Chest (#22) and make your way back to the previous room.
Continue down through this room to reach the bottom level of the tall room. Watch for the Poison Toad at the bottom and any that may follow you down. When the coast is clear, destroy the leftmost wall for an _MP Max Up_ (#23). Go through the door on the right.
You’ll enter a long hallway and be immediately greeted by a Seeker and an Archdemon. Use some Cerulean Splash to hopefully hit both of them if possible. Hop over the Seeker when it inevitably approaches and go after the Archdemon if you can reach him. Hopefully, you can kill him before turning back to deal with the seeker.
Just to the right of them will be an Axe Outsider and an exit. Kill the first quickly, dodge the axe, and then go through the second. You’ll once again enter a tall room with a door on the opposite side. Go through the door on the right, kill the Seeker and open the Blue Chest (#24) before returning to the previous tall room.
Drop down a level but watch for Bats. Continue down to the water at the bottom and go through the doorway on the right. In the next water-filled room, you’ll encounter a new enemy called a Deeseama. The Deeseama is exactly what you’d expect from a Seama in the water except a little bit sturdier. It will shoot at you like a rocket to try to hit you.
Kill the Deeseama here, and if you don’t get the _Aqua Stream_ shard for defeating it, go through the doorway on the right. Return back into this room and defeat the Deeseama again. Unfortunately, you need to get the Aqua Stream shard to progress, but it thankfully has a 12.5% drop rate. This is convenient. Your quest for Lindsay is to kill eight of these enemies and your odds
