Walkthrough
Comprehensive walkthrough for Beyond Good & Evil, covering the Lighthouse, Black Isles, Pedestrian District, Mammago, and Factory. Includes boss strategies and item locations.
- 1Lighthouse: After the opening cut-scene, defeat enemies and the first boss. Collect your first pearl. Take a picture of the first animal. Explore the lighthouse for health items. Go outside to photograph more animals to earn credits for restoring power. Once power is restored, follow the robot to Pey'j's workshop, grab the M-disk, and save. Leave the workshop, go down the stairs to the hovercraft, and push the generator to power it. Leave the lighthouse.
- 2Mammago: Drive to Mammago and buy the new speed craft motor. Use the hovercraft's compass if needed.
- 3Black Isles: Talk to the strange man and follow the path. At the Y-junction, go left (right leads to animals, accessible later with wire cutters). At the door, have Jade and Pey'j stand on pressure pads to open it. Follow the path; Pey'j will explain his jet boots. After the cut-scene, stand Jade on a pressure pad, and have Pey'j use his super action to project Jade to the next level. On the next level, have Jade climb between pillars and turn the gear. After lowering the ramp and bridge, follow the path to explosives. Have Pey'j use his super attack, and while the red sack is airborne, hit it like a baseball into the explosives. Clear paths by repeating this maneuver to lower the bridge. Cross the bridge, lower the chute, and push the cart towards it. Climb the cart and chute to the next area. After fighting, use the duo pressure switch to open the door. Search lockers for wire cutters and have Pey'j cut the fence. Backtrack to where the bridge was lowered and have Pey'j cut the fence there. Proceed through. Shimmy to the next area and go up the ramp with the red sack. Push the cart to the other side, then use the super attack/baseball maneuver with the red sack on the ramp. Have Pey'j jump on the pad to send Jade atop the door. Open the door for Pey'j, who will cut the fence. Proceed and defeat the new enemies. Cross the bridge, and during the battle, try to hit an enemy into the vertical bridge. After the battle, cross the bridge to save and collect crystals, or lower the platform and climb up. Follow the path to a bubble sack; hit it, then have Pey'j super attack it. In the next area, take a picture of your objective using zoom. Prepare for a boss. To defeat it, wait for its head to pop up, have Pey'j super attack it, then have Jade hit it. When it flies, run until it enters a hole, then repeat the Pey'j/Jade attack. After the battle, grab the pearl. Drive to the Pedestrian District.
- 4Pedestrian District: Follow the path down, left, up the ramp, right, and right again to Akuda Bar. Go upstairs and talk to the man behind the counter. Select the password (look at Jade's head for clues). Go to room three and input the code (format: letter-number-letter-number). In room three, go to the closet to reach a secret area. You can play air-hockey for pearls. Find the password for room two by looking through the camera's zoom at the man at the table left of the stairs. Outside the bar, go straight, right, right again, and down the ramp. Go left, pass the guard, and enter Ming-TZU's shop. Buy the animal and pearl detectors. Return to the hovercraft and go to Mammago.
- 5Mammago: Buy the Neutralizing Cannon to shoot down flying guards.
- 6Factory: Take a picture of the red barcode by the door.
- When fighting the first boss, staying on the far right side and performing attack, super attack, attack again can prevent damage.
- The animal and pearl detectors from Ming-TZU's shop are highly recommended for easier collection.
- The Neutralizing Cannon is necessary to access certain areas like the factory.
- First Pearl
- M-disk
- Credits for restoring lighthouse power
- Wire cutters
- Neutralizing Cannon
