Upon launching Anno 2205, you'll be prompted to create your corporation. This involves choosing a name and a logo. While these choices are largely cosmetic, they represent your identity in the game world. Take a moment to select something you like, as you'll be seeing it frequently. After this, you'll be introduced to the game's main menu, where you can start a new game, load a saved game, or access options. For new players, selecting 'New Game' is the obvious first step. The game will then present you with a choice of starting sectors on Earth. Each sector offers different resources and challenges, but for your very first playthrough, the default recommended sector is usually the most balanced and forgiving. Don't worry too much about this choice initially, as you'll eventually expand to all available sectors.
