To establish your Arctic outpost, you'll first need to select an available Arctic sector from the world map. Once there, your primary concern will be providing Heat for your residents. Arctic residential buildings (e.g., Arctic Residences) require heat to function. Build Geothermal Power Plants or Fusion Reactors (later in the game) to generate heat. These plants have a heat radius; place residential buildings within this radius. You'll also need to provide basic needs like Arctic Food (from Fish Farms) and Water (from Ice Drills). The Arctic also introduces new resources like Ore Deposits and Oil Fields, which are crucial for producing advanced materials. Begin extracting these resources and setting up their respective processing facilities.
