Amnesia: The Bunker introduces dynamic threats that change with each playthrough. The primary danger is the Beast, which is repelled by light. Players must manage the bunker's generator to maintain light and prevent the Beast from roaming freely. The pocket watch indicates remaining fuel. Various items can be used for survival and progression, such as grenades to destroy obstacles, flares to scare off rats, and tools like the wrench and bolt cutters to interact with the environment. Every item used presents an opportunity cost, requiring careful resource management. The Beast is always nearby, forcing players to hide or evade. Environmental hazards include tripwire traps that can be rigged with explosives or flares to lure or deter the Beast.
