Navigate through all stages of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, from Yugi Muto to Yami Yugi. Learn strategies to beat duelists like Seto Kaiba, Maximillion Pegasus, and more.

Beat each duelist 5 times per stage to unlock the next one.

STAGE 1 Yugi Muto, Tristan Taylor, Joey Wheeler, Ryou Bakura

These opponents pose no threat - they will set and pass. The only real concern is the small chance that Joey drops Red-Eyes or Thousand Dragon on you. In that case, just take the L and try again. However, it's worth noting that in my 20+ duels against him I did not see either monster played.

STAGE 2 Weevil Underwood, Mai Valentine, Rex Raptor, Mako Tsunami, Seto Kaiba, Mokuba Kaiba, Puppeteer, PaniK, Bandit Keith

This is the longest stage - with plenty of duelists to boot. Most of them are equal in power level - you'll need to start your real grind before facing these duelists. As stated in the "Early Game Tips" section of the guide, Flame Swordsman is still the go-to card. Once you establish a respectable warrior deck, most of these duelists shouldn't give you a problem. The only snag I ran into was Seto - he has a higher chance of dropping Blue-Eyes on the board. If you can't draw your removal to get rid of it, just try the duel again. Unless you have your own 3000+ beaters, there isn't much you can do to actually deal with it.

STAGE 3 Simon Muran

Once you firmly establish a strong warrior deck with a few equips, Simon shouldn't be too bad. He's most likely going to use Mystical Elf, Rogue Doll, and Faceless Mage. The Mage and the Elf can give you some trouble with their high defense stats, but a Flame Swordsman equipped with Legendary Sword can get over them no problem. At this point I would also recommend using the password screen to grab a copy of Seiyaryu.

STAGE 4 Maximillion Pegasus

Pegasus doesn't really have any huge monsters you need to be fearful of. His main threats, however, are Swamp Battleguard and Battle Steer. He has a very high percentage of dropping these in the early game. A good way to counter this is with "Gatekeeper". Gatekeeper can be dropped by Seto and Bandit Keith at rather high percentage, and boasts a 1800 DEF stat that can help shore up your defenses. If you can do this, he won't be hard to beat with a beefed-up Flame Swordsman.

STAGE 5 Yami Yugi

I won't lie, Yami Yugi (the bonus boss) is REALLY tough. Winning really is a matter of luck. With high percentages to drop Summoned Skull or Curse of Dragon turn 1, he makes it hard to even establish your board. Seiyaryu, mentioned earlier in the guide, can help you win if you open with him. That's the easiest way I've gotten past this duel. If you need some bigger monsters, check out the Milestone Rewards section of the guide. That's honestly the best advice I can give.
