Pay close attention to the background and foreground elements, as this level is notorious for cleverly concealed collectibles.

General Strategies for Spring-Loaded

• Spring Mechanics: Most springs will give a standard bounce. However, performing a Ground Pound (Down + A in mid-air) directly onto a spring will launch Yoshi significantly higher, often revealing otherwise unreachable platforms or hidden areas. Experiment with both regular and ground-pound bounces.
• Spring-Loaded Enemies: You'll encounter new enemies like the Springy Spiny, which bounces erratically, and the Springy Shy Guy, often found on bouncy platforms. These enemies can be defeated with a simple stomp or an egg throw. Be cautious, as their unpredictable bounces can sometimes knock Yoshi into hazards.
• Rotating Platforms: A significant section of the level features rotating cardboard platforms. These require careful timing for jumps. Wait for the platform to align correctly before making your move, and be prepared to adjust your trajectory mid-air.

Collectible Walkthrough: Spring-Loaded

Follow these step-by-step instructions to find all 6 Smiley Flowers, 20 Red Coins, and 3 Poochy Pups.

Section 1: The Bouncy Beginning

1. As you start, proceed right. You'll immediately encounter several bouncy platforms.
   • Red Coin 1-2: Bounce across the first few platforms. Two Red Coins are floating above the initial set of springs.
2. You'll reach a larger spring.
   • Smiley Flower 1: Perform a Ground Pound on this large spring to launch Yoshi high up to a hidden platform above, where the first Smiley Flower awaits.
3. Continue right, past some Springy Shy Guys. You'll see a large cardboard cutout of a tree in the background.
   • Red Coin 3-5: Throw an egg at the cardboard tree in the background. It will reveal a hidden path with three Red Coins.
4. Shortly after, you'll come across a series of small, fast-bouncing springs.
   • Poochy Pup 1: Just before the first large rotating platform, look for a small, yellow flower in the foreground, slightly obscured by a bush. Throw an egg at this flower to reveal the first Poochy Pup.

Section 2: Rotating Platforms and Hidden Paths

5. Navigate the first set of rotating platforms. These require precise timing.
   • Red Coin 6-8: Three Red Coins are positioned strategically between the rotating platforms. Time your jumps carefully to collect them without falling.
6. After the first set of rotating platforms, you'll land on a solid platform with a large spring.
   • Smiley Flower 2: Use a Ground Pound on this spring to reach a high, secluded platform on the left. The second Smiley Flower is there.
7. Continue right. You'll encounter a series of platforms with Springy Spinies.
   • Red Coin 9-11: Three Red Coins are scattered above these platforms. Use the bouncy nature of the platforms to reach them.
8. You'll reach a point where the path splits, one going up via springs, another continuing straight.
   • Smiley Flower 3: Take the upper path by ground-pounding the springs. At the very top, you'll find the third Smiley Flower.

Section 3: The Cardboard Maze

9. After the split path, you'll enter an area with many cardboard structures and hidden passages.
   • Poochy Pup 2: Look for a large, seemingly solid cardboard wall on the right. Throw an egg at the center of this wall to break it open and reveal the second Poochy Pup.
10. Proceed through the newly opened path. You'll see several targets in the background.
    • Red Coin 12-15: Hit all the visible targets in the background with eggs. This will often cause coins to appear or reveal hidden blocks. Four Red Coins will appear after hitting a sequence of targets.
11. You'll come to a section with a large, moving cardboard block that acts as a platform.
    • Smiley Flower 4: Ride the moving cardboard block. As it reaches its highest point, jump off to the left onto a small, hidden ledge. The fourth Smiley Flower is tucked away here.
12. Further right, you'll encounter a series of vertically moving springs.
    • Red Coin 16-18: Three Red Coins are floating between these moving springs. Time your jumps carefully to grab them as the springs move up and down.

Section 4: Final Stretch and Hidden Surprises

13. Near the end of the level, you'll see a large, decorative cardboard flower in the background.
    • Poochy Pup 3: Throw an egg at the center of this large cardboard flower. It will spin around, revealing the final Poochy Pup.
14. Just before the final goal ring, there's a series of small platforms leading to a higher area.
    • Smiley Flower 5: Use a combination of regular and ground-pound bounces on these platforms to reach the highest point. The fifth Smiley Flower is located on a small, isolated platform here.
15. The final collectible is often the trickiest to spot.
    • Red Coin 19-20: After collecting Smiley Flower 5, descend slightly. Look closely at the very top of the screen, just before the goal ring. There's a hidden cloud that, when hit with an egg, will drop the last two Red Coins.
    • Smiley Flower 6: This Smiley Flower is awarded automatically upon reaching the goal ring with 100 or more coins. Ensure you've collected all the Red Coins and other standard coins throughout the level.

Common Pitfalls & Missables

• Forgetting the Ground Pound: Many hidden areas and Smiley Flowers are only accessible by ground-pounding on specific springs. Don't just bounce normally!
• Ignoring the Background/Foreground: This level is a masterclass in visual misdirection. Always scan both the background and foreground for suspicious objects or flowers that might hide a Poochy Pup or a secret path.
