Learn how to defeat the multi-headed Slimamander boss in Yo-kai Watch! Discover its weak point, understand its attacks like Triple Trouble and Slimy Fire Breath, and get tips for victory.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
When you encounter Slimamander, you'll notice it has three heads. One of these heads will periodically reveal an eyeball – this is Slimamander's only weak point and the only way to deal damage.
  2. 2
Initially, all three heads will be closed. Pick any head and have your Yokai attack it. Keep attacking until the head opens up, showing whether it has the eyeball or not.
  3. 3
Once you find the head with the eyeball, focus all your attacks on it. This will deplete Slimamander's HP, which is shown on the bar to the left of the screen.
  4. 4
After dealing enough damage, the eye will retreat. You'll need to repeat the process of finding which head it has reappeared on.
Tips
  • Slimamander's basic attacks are physical hits from its heads.
  • Be cautious of its Soultimate move, Triple Trouble. It hits multiple times and affects all your front-row Yokai, similar to Cadin's and Jibanyan's Soultimates.
  • Watch out for Slimy Fire Breath. This attack can hit two or all three of your front-row Yokai. The real danger here is that it can set your Yokai on fire, acting as an Inspirit. If a Yokai gets set on fire, quickly move it to the back row to purify it.
  • Keep your Yokai's health up throughout the fight. With good healing, this boss shouldn't give you too much trouble.

Follow our step-by-step guide for Yo-kai Watch 6, 'What Dad Forgot' quest. Learn how to retrieve your dad's papers, dodge Wazzats, and recruit a new Yo-kai.

Before you dive into all the Requests you can tackle, know that many are locked until you reach Downtown Springdale or get your Yokai Watch to Rank C. For now, just stick to the story until after the bit with your dad. It won't take long! Your mom will ask you to grab some important papers your dad left at Sunshine Station. Head over to Sunshine Station in Blossom Heights and chat with the station staff outside to get the papers.

The next train is heading to Downtown Springdale, so hop on! Once you arrive, take the south exit and get ready to move. A scene will play, and you'll have three minutes to reach your dad's office building. You'll need to avoid the Wazzats scattered around town. If a Wazzat catches you, you'll be sent back to the station to try again, with the full three minutes reset. You should have plenty of time to reach the building, but watch out for more Wazzats on your way to the elevator.

You'll need to dodge Wazzats in the town area (left), and there are a few more in the office building's lobby (right).

Once you reach the elevator, you're safe! A short scene will play, and you'll be back in the building's lobby, with no more Wazzats to worry about. After a cutscene at the station, you and Whisper will be attacked by a Wazzat, which really annoys Whisper. This is a good moment to take a break and grab the Rank C Challenge request from Timers & More in Blossom Heights. To continue the story, you need to chase down the Wazzat. Head to the marker to find it, but it gets away. Follow it north back into Uptown Springdale, where you'll find it at Banter Bakery. Talk to the little Yo-kai, and it'll automatically join your party, wrapping up this short chapter.

Navigate the treacherous Construction Site, defeat the formidable Massiface boss, and progress through Chapter 7 of your Yo-kai Watch adventure with this expert walkthrough.

Alright, so you've made it to Chapter 7, and it's time to head into the Construction Site. Don't worry, I'll guide you through it. First off, as soon as you enter, there's an Eyepo on your left. Definitely use it to check your team and maybe power up if you need to. This place is also where you can find a bunch of different Yokai, though some are floor-specific and one, Slacka-slash, is super rare. Keep an eye out for Castelius III – grabbing two of them is a smart move because you can fuse them into a Castelius II, and then two of those make a Castelius I. Handy for later! Kyubi is waiting for you at the top, but there are also some treasure chests scattered around. Honestly, nothing in them is a must-grab, you can find most of it elsewhere.

To get started, head north and take that narrow hallway to the left of the Rank S Watch Lock. It leads to stairs going up to the second floor. From there, it's a straight shot until you see a skinny walkway to your right and a huge hole to the north. Falling into either hole will drop you to the first floor, but you can also cross that walkway and climb down a rope on the other side. Once you're back on the first floor, feel free to poke around this new area, but remember, the main goal is to get back up to the second floor using the stairs.

There isn't much else to do on the second floor besides taking the marked rope up to the third. You'll see a bunch of paths, but the one you need for the objective marker is to the left. Follow it until you can get onto the narrow path that circles the whole floor. Stick to that path, heading east and then north. It'll lead you to a room with another Eyepo. Make sure you heal up and save your game here before heading into the northern room. Get ready, because a scene and a boss fight are waiting for you!

BOSS - Massiface

Okay, this guy, Massiface, is a big one! He's got a few spots you can hit, but the main weak point is that big 'X' right on his forehead. You could honestly just focus on that spot and take him down without bothering with anything else. But, if you want to make it a bit easier, go for his two eyeballs. They're other targetable spots. Once you deal enough damage to one eye, it'll close. Do that to both eyes, and Massiface will start missing most, if not all, of his attacks. Pretty neat, huh?

Now, about his attacks: he's got Earthquake, where he slams the ground and makes debris fall on your front-line Yokai. Then there's Forehead Flick, which targets one Yokai and can confuse them. He also slams the ground with his palm, hitting just one Yokai. His Stink Eye attack doesn't hurt, but it can lower a Yokai's defense. His Soultimate move, Massive Swat, hits your whole front line. The best strategy here is to keep hitting those eyes to blind him, then switch your focus to his forehead weak point.

After you beat him, enjoy the scene – your adventure in this chapter is complete!

About the Game

Learn about the world of Yo-kai Watch, including the protagonists Nate and Katie, the Yokai Whisper, and the core gameplay loop of befriending and battling Yokai.

Originally released in Japan in July of 2013, Yo-kai Watch is considered by many to be Level-5’s answer to the Pokemon craze. After its success in Japan, it was finally released in North America in November of 2015. Like the previously mentioned Pokemon, Yo-kai Watch is a collect-all-monsters type role-playing game that is based on the Yokai of Japanese culture, who are said to be entities that can cause trouble and mischief in everyday life.

Welcome to the world of Yo-kai Watch! At the beginning of the game, the player gets to choose between Nate or Katie (male or female protagonist), with no gameplay differences between them. While looking for bugs for a summer project, the protagonist stumbles upon a mysterious capsule machine in the woods and upon opening one of the capsules, he/she releases a Yokai named Whisper. This Yokai gives them the titular Yokai Watch, allowing them to see the Yokai all around their town. It’s now up to them to adventure forth and befriend Yokai, battle those who are causing mischief, as well as helping out any people in need to assistance.

You play as either Nate or Katie, who while on a mission to find some bugs for a summer project, stumble upon a mysterious machine in the woods. Using it reveals a loud-mouthed Yokai named Whisper, who ends up giving you a Yokai Watch, letting him/her see the world of Yokai that surrounds them. It is now up to you to go around town, investigating mysteries, helping people out and making sure the Yokai behave themselves.

Let us guide you on a mystical adventure through Springdale and beyond to befriend all of the Yokai in our comprehensive Yokai Watch strategy guide!
