Removing & Upgrading Cards

Learn how to counter the powerful False Gods in Vampire Crawlers. Discover their upgraded cards, larger decks, and unique mechanics to help you win.

Alright, so you've made it to the end of the current quest series and you're facing down the False Gods. These guys are basically souped-up versions of the level 3 decks you've been battling, and they mean business. They're level 5 AI enemies, and they've got some serious advantages:

  • Every single card in their decks is upgraded.
  • They don't play by normal deck-building rules – think double the deck size and double the card limit (up to 12 of any one card!).
  • They've got 200 HP, twice the usual 100.
  • They get 3 quanta per turn instead of 1.
  • They draw 2 cards per turn if they have room.

Now, don't despair! While winning against them only nets you a modest 60 coins (plus a bonus based on your finishing HP), the real prize is on the lottery wheel. Any cards you win there will be upgraded cards, worth a hefty 1200 coins each. So, even though the chances of winning specific cards might feel lower due to their larger decks (like Hermes with nearly 60 cards!), the payoff is definitely worth it.

Most False Gods focus more on strategy than brute force, meaning they have weaknesses. Plus, their AI isn't always the sharpest, which you can totally exploit. Here's what we've observed so far:

Note: The exact card lists for each False God are hidden away in a .txt file in your Temporary Internet Files. We're still piecing together information, so feel free to jump in and add what you find! Missing info includes Akebono, mono gravity, Serket, Darkness/death/life scorpion deck, Jezebel, and the nymph deck.

Chaos Lord

Mark of Entropy (x3) - This is an Entropy / Rainbow Mutation deck.

Notable Cards:

  • Lots of Fallen Druids and Mutations.
  • Werewolves: These are dangerous because the AI often uses Lycanthropy then mutates them, getting an extra life buff from Improved Mutation.
  • Discord: This card is a double-edged sword. While it only has one copy and can mess up mono-color decks, it also means the AI has access to various quanta for its mutations.
  • Ray of Light: Primarily used as mutation fodder.
  • Supernova: Not super useful, so you're lucky if you see these.
  • Dissipation Field and Amethyst Dragon: These aren't common but can really shut down decks that might otherwise counter this God.
  • Explosion, Unstoppable, and Improved Steal: The AI only has one of each of these.

The Chaos Lord is pretty unpredictable, relying heavily on chance. It's programmed to mutate your creatures if they have around 10 attack or a decent effect. While your creatures won't die from these mutations, they can still mess up your combos. The Chaos Lord has 4 druids in its 53-card deck and seems to prefer playing mutations directly from its hand. The AI rarely mutates werewolves, usually saving that for Ray of Lights. Discord is a rare sight. You might think Dissipation Field could drain its quanta, but trust me, unless you have an amazing hand, this God generates way too much quanta for that to be effective. Your best bet is usually just to defeat it quickly. It's unlikely to steal your shield unless it's one hit away from winning, and even then, it usually only goes for Hourglasses and weapons.

Dark Matter

Mark of Light (x3) - This is a gravity/light deck that uses black holes to keep you defenseless while Archangels and Otyughs wear you down.

Notable cards:

  • Black Hole: Used early to keep you from getting any quanta.
  • Archangel: Deals seven damage. If you don't take them out all at once, they heal themselves.
  • Elite Otyugh: Bring out your heavy hitters or prepare to be eaten, as these devour most smaller creatures.
  • Improved Blessing: A natural...
