Hey there! So, you've stumbled upon Oculi in Valiant Hearts, huh? Think of these as special gems you can slot into your weapons, armor, or even use as charms. They're pretty neat because the same Oculi can have different effects depending on where you put it, but don't worry, the effects are the same for all your characters.

You can start crafting Oculi pretty early on, as soon as you have a couple you're not using. The game gives you some basic patterns to get you started. There are four Tiers of Oculi: ROUGH, TUMBLED, FACETED, and BRILLIANT. The cool thing is, the higher-tiered versions have the same effects as their lower-tier buddies. So, if you're not super into min-maxing stats, just focus on equipping skills that'll help your character. For example, give your magic users Oculi that boost magic. Once you've gathered a good amount, you can head to the CRAFT option and experiment to see what you can create.

Here's a rundown of the different Oculi types you'll find:

• Ruby (red)
• Emerald (green)
• Tourmaline (cyan)
• Amethyst (purple)
• Citrine (orange)
• Diamond (grey)
• Onix (black)
• Spinel (gold)

One of the most helpful things Oculi can do is give your weapons an ELEMENT. This is super useful because different enemies have weaknesses to certain elements, meaning you can deal extra damage with your physical attacks. For instance, Sapphires give you a water element, which is super effective against fire enemies. Rubies provide fire damage, great against earth-based foes. Emeralds grant lightning, effective against water enemies. Citrine, I believe, offers light damage, which is usually a good bet against undead and dark enemies.

Keep an eye out for Onix Oculi, as they don't show up until pretty late in the game. I'm pretty sure you can't craft them earlier, even if you try common combinations. Spinel Oculi, the gold ones, seem to be craftable using Onix and Diamonds, but I could be wrong about that specific recipe. Oh, and there's also something called a PRINCESS STONE that requires a whole lot of crafting to make. I bet it's incredibly powerful!
