General Combat Tips:

This guide focuses on general advice, as enemy AI (Artificial Intelligence - non-player characters controlled by the game) can vary tactics, and your actions influence their behavior. Specific combat steps are not detailed to preserve enjoyment.

• Avoid a "Run-and-Gun" approach; stealth or misdirection is generally better due to limited ammo in this survival game.
• Assess the environment for resources like cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) (objects to hide behind) and long grass. Use bricks and bottles to distract enemies or throw dogs off your scent.
• Consider avoiding enemies, especially Infected (zombie-like creatures), if possible, to conserve ammo. Most can be dealt with using stealth.
• Always loot everything and craft when possible if you have excess items.
• Maintain full health and ensure your weapons are fully loaded.
• Use suppressors or arrows for silent takedowns that won't alert enemies.
• Aim for headshots (shots to the enemy's head) for maximum damage; arrows can sometimes be recovered from headshots.
• Upgrade weapons and skills.
• Utilize traps and the environment. Place bombs or Molotovs in choke points to force enemies into damaging areas.
• Use enemies against each other. Make noise near human enemies to attract Infected while you hide, letting them fight amongst themselves before dealing with survivors.

Synopsis:

Five years after their journey across the United States, Ellie and Joel have found peace in Jackson, Wyoming, within a survivor community. Despite the constant threats from Infected and desperate survivors, their stability is shattered by a violent event.
