Learn how to save your partner from the Blood Plague in State of Decay 2. This guide covers surveying cell towers, finding vital materials, building an infirmary, and managing medicine.

Alright, so you've just snagged a new home base and immediately got hit with a mission to save your partner from that nasty Blood Plague. Don't worry, we've got this. First things first, you need to chat with the doctor. He'll point you towards a cell tower nearby. This tower is key because it'll help you pinpoint locations where you can find the materials needed to build an infirmary – that's your main goal right now.

Pull up your map, find that cell tower, and set a waypoint. Once you get there, you'll see a ladder. Climb it all the way to the top. Up there, you'll need to switch into Survey Mode. The easiest way to do this is by aiming your gun (right-click on PC, or RMB). You'll see different sites pop up; you need to keep your cursor steady on each one until the survey is complete before moving to the next. Just keep at it until you've surveyed three sites that look promising for materials, or survey every single one if you're feeling thorough.

Once you're done surveying, hop back into your map. You should now see three points of interest marked with mission-related icons. Pick the one you want to tackle first and set a waypoint. Head over there, and you'll find three containers. Your job is to search through all of them to find those crucial building materials. After you've got what you need, it's time to head back to base. Drop the materials off at the Manage Storage station.

Now, with the materials stored, press 'B' to bring up the building blueprints for your base. Find an empty spot and choose to build the infirmary. This will take about 6 minutes in real-time. While that's ticking away, you've got a couple of optional objectives you can chase. First, you can search nearby sites for more supplies. Second, you might remember that car you ditched earlier? You can go back and recover supplies from it, but you'll need to find a gas can to refuel it first.

Once the infirmary is finally built, head inside and check your partner in. This will put a pause on the Blood Plague's progression. Just remember, you'll need to keep that medicine stocked up, or eventually, you'll want to work on crafting an actual cure.
