Reward: Burnout

Objective: Collect all checkpoints in any order.

Route Suggestion: Start by going left, hit the first checkpoint. Turn right, head west collecting checkpoints. Follow the checkpoints onto the narrow ridge road on the north side of LA. Be cautious of running off the road or hitting telephone poles. Continue on this road as it widens to four lanes. Turn left at the last checkpoint. Use nitro after the last checkpoint. Make a left at the next intersection and follow the street to the finish.

Reward: 1971 Bestia

Opponent: Diego (Angel's father)

Objective: Race Diego and reach the finish line.

Race Description: The race begins with a jump into a large canal. You will race down the canal until the last bridge, where you turn onto the street to finish. The long, straight canal favors muscle cars. Maintain high speed and be aware of the dam jump near the start.

Dam Jump Strategy: You can use the two large ramps over the top or the smaller ramps on either side. The right large ramp is recommended as Diego may crowd the left one, and the small ramps are slower. To gain a significant advantage, you can knock Diego off course at the dam so he hits the wall instead of the ramps.

Hazards: Watch out for the jump under the second bridge after the dam, which can cause you to wreck. Slow down when exiting the canal to avoid crashing into buildings.

Canal Jump Strategy: To gain an advantage, aim your car towards the orange finish line while in the canal and use nitrous to jump over the canal lip and a building, landing near the finish.

Reward: Interna

Opponent: Angel

Objective: Catch up to and beat Angel.

Race Description: Angel will cheat at the start by zooming away. Checkpoints in the first part are on bridges over canals, with oncoming traffic.

Hazards: Be careful of oncoming cars on bridges. A truck will swerve onto the road after the last bridge checkpoint. In the industrial sector, two large trucks will block the long straightaway after a checkpoint; avoid hitting them.

Shortcut: After the trucks, use nitro. At the next checkpoint, head towards stairs leading to a building. Crash through the glass doors, go down the hall for a shortcut, zip across the parking lot, and through the stadium area to maintain speed.

Final Stretch: After exiting the stadium, make a right onto a small two-lane street. At the checkpoint at the end of this road, make a quick right into the entertainment district to reach the finish line.
