Alright, let's talk about the gear you'll be using in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart! These aren't just tools; they're your ticket to getting around faster, finding hidden goodies, and even helping you in a scrap. Think of them as your trusty sidekicks. We'll go over each one, where you snag it, and what cool stuff it does.

Omniglove

You actually get this one right at the start of the game. It's super important because it lets you use things like the Swingshot and Hookshot to zip around. Plus, it's what lets you grab onto those rifts and even do a cool Phantom Dash to dodge attacks or close the distance. Keep in mind, you'll hold L1/LB to attach to those Swingshot points and Tether Targets. And don't forget, Circle/A is your Phantom Dash button!

Glide Boots

These are also with you from the get-go. They're your basic jump-and-glide setup. You'll hit X/A to jump, and then X/A again in the air for a double jump. If you want to cover some ground quickly, you can hold L3/Click Left Thumbstick to sprint. The main trick here is holding X/A while in the air to activate the glide, letting you float over gaps.

Hover Boots

You'll pick these up on the planet Savali, specifically in the Urfdah Mesa area. These are awesome for zipping around. Just hold R1/RB to hover, and if you want to really speed up, keep holding R1/RB and mash L2/LT. It’s a great way to get around faster once you unlock them.

Grind Boots

Yep, you guessed it – these are also available right at the start. They're essential for riding those Grind Rails you'll see scattered throughout the game. No special buttons to worry about, just hop on and enjoy the ride!

Magneboots

Another piece of gear you get right at the beginning. These boots are key for navigating areas with magnetic surfaces. They let you walk on walls and ceilings! The special move here is Circle/A, which performs a Mag Launch, letting you quickly propel yourself off these surfaces.

Map-O-Matic

This handy scanner is found on Ardolis, in the Pirate Base area, and it's tied to an optional objective called the Treasure Hunt. Once you have it, you can open your map by tapping the Touchpad. It’ll then show you where to find hidden Gold Bolts, Raritanium, and other valuable treasures. Definitely grab this if you're a completionist!

Box Breaker

You'll earn this gadget after winning the Silver Cup in the Freeze Pop Challenge at Zurkie's II in the Scarstu Debris Field. When this is integrated into your Hammers and Wrenches, it makes your Ground Slams way more powerful and extends their range. It even helps you grab bolts from further away! To use it, you'll perform a Ground Slam and then, while in the air, press Square/X for a melee weapon attack.
