Alright, let's get you that Old Cottage Key! You'll need it to open up a nice little chest that's got some great goodies inside, especially those weapon shards for upgrading. We're heading to the Nameless Pass, so make sure you're ready.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First things first, you need to make your way to the Old Cottage Door. Head to the southeast part of the Nameless Pass, towards the end of the Quarry area. Look for a small wooden building right where the quarry cave and the track meet. That's your cottage!
  2. 2
Now, to get the key. The Old Cottage Key isn't at the cottage itself, surprisingly. You'll find it near the ladder shortcut that takes you back to the Cerim Whisper, right at the start of the Nameless Pass.
  3. 3
To reach the key, you'll need to do a bit of parkour. Start by climbing the stairs of the old cottage.
  4. 4
From the top of the cottage stairs, you'll need to parkour over some wooden platforms to get to the pathway on the opposite side.
  5. 5
Once you're across, proceed up the rocky pathways. Keep going until you cross a wooden bridge.
  6. 6
After crossing the bridge, some enemies will spawn around a small campfire. Take them out!
  7. 7
With the enemies dealt with, walk down the rocky slope. Keep an eye out for the ladder shortcut.
  8. 8
The key is located to the right of this ladder shortcut. Grab it!

Once you've got the key, just head back the way you came to the Old Cottage and use it. Inside, you'll find a chest. We got 2x Weapon Shards, 1x Medium Vial of Focus, and an Epic Ring of Broken Promises (which boosts damage but also damage taken by 19% and 22% respectively). Those weapon shards are super handy for upgrading your gear, especially with upcoming challenges like the 'Servants of Gods' quest and the Riven Twins boss. The ring is great too if you're confident with parrying and dodging!

Tips
  • The Ring of Broken Promises is a high-risk, high-reward item. If you're good at dodging and parrying, it's fantastic. If not, you might want to hold off on equipping it until you're more comfortable.
  • Don't skip this! The weapon shards are crucial for early-to-mid game weapon progression.
