This section is all about the 'Achievement Trail' – basically, a recommended path through some of the game's core achievements that'll get you familiar with a lot of the essential mechanics. Think of it as a guided tour to becoming a seasoned Minecraft player!

Cow Tipper

First up, you need to harvest some leather. This is pretty straightforward – find some cows, and well, get the leather. You'll get 15 achievement points for this. After that, it's time to get serious about mining. If you haven't already, craft a stone pickaxe. You'll need it to head underground and dig up some iron ore. Once you've got that iron, smelt it into ingots.

Acquire Hardware

Smelting an iron ingot is your next goal, earning you another 15 points. While you're down there in the caves, don't shy away from a fight if you encounter a monster. The best strategy is to be patient. Try to lure enemies into tight spots, like narrow passages, so you can fight them on your own terms. Don't just rush in; enemies might have backup lurking just around the corner.

Monster Hunter

Your next achievement is to attack and destroy a monster, worth 20 points. It's a good idea to pack a bow and arrows for this. You might run into a skeleton, and if you're on PC, there's even an achievement for taking one down from a distance of over 50 meters!

[PC Only] Sniper Duel

This PC-exclusive achievement is for killing a skeleton or wither skeleton with an arrow from more than 50 meters away. If you've managed to find iron, a great way to pass the time while mining is to build a minecart track. Make it long enough, and you'll get a special congratulatory graphic.

On A Rail

Travel by minecart for at least 1 km from where you started to earn 40 points. The main objective of this deep dive into the game is to get your hands on Obsidian. You create Obsidian by having water meet lava. You can force this by using a bucket to carry water. Find some lava, then pour the water onto it. Once you have enough Obsidian, you can build a frame that's five blocks high and four blocks wide. Then, use flint and steel to light it up, which will create a Nether portal.

[PC] We Need to Go Deeper / [Xbox] Into The Nether

Build a portal to the Nether to get 40 points. Note that some achievements aren't available for Xbox players, but the Nether offers incredible challenges and resources, including the Ender Dragon!

Once you've made it to the Nether, you're making serious progress! You'll have access to all the materials and tools you need for some seriously powerful gear. Your goal now is to craft the best gear and weapons you can, maybe even enchant them for extra boosts. Then, you'll need to track down a fortress in the overworld. Inside, you'll hopefully find an Ender Portal. Activate it and step through to face Minecraft's ultimate challenge.
