They're your bread and butter when you're low on ammo or just want to conserve resources. You'll find a bunch of different types, each with its own feel and use. First off, we've got One-Handed Weapons. Think of these as your quick, close-range finishers. They're great for when an enemy is already weakened or when you need to get a few quick hits in. A cool thing about them is you can actually step forward while swinging, which can help you close the distance or dodge a bit. Some examples you'll find are the Combat Machete, Crowbar, and the trusty Portable Shovel. Next up are Two-Handed Weapons. These are your solid, mid-range brawlers. They swing a bit slower than one-handed options but pack a bigger punch and have more knockback. This is super useful for keeping enemies at bay. They can even knock helmets off those pesky Armored enemies! Like the one-handed types, you can step forward while swinging these too. You'll be looking at things like the Bat, Battle Axe, and the Flame Bat. Then there are Thrusting Weapons. These are a bit different. They're good for poking enemies, especially if they're behind something like a fence. The catch is, when you use these, your character stays pretty much stationary while thrusting. So, you gotta be sure of your positioning. Examples include the Armor-Piercing Spear and the Pipe Spear. We also have Heavy Weapons. These are the slowest but hit the hardest, with the most knockback. They're your heavy hitters for when you really need to stagger an enemy or clear a group. You'll want to be careful with your timing, as they leave you open for a bit after swinging. Some of these might include things like the Sledgehammer or the Great Axe. Remember, all the stats you see for these weapons are their base stats before any upgrades. You can improve them by upgrading their star level, from one to five stars, as long as you have the weapon in your inventory.
