Stage 1

Charge to the right, following the tutorial signs until you reach a door.

Enter the door and follow the path to find a key.

Touch the key to pick it up. You cannot use abilities or fly while carrying it. Pressing 1 will throw the key with an arc that depends on how long you hold the button.

Carry or throw the key to the locked gate and use it to open the gate.

On the other side, grab the first [Energy Sphere].

Continue until you reach a stone block. Discard your current ability and use the super inhale to eat the stone block and access a 1-Up.

Take the upper path, follow it to a bridge, and press down to drop below it.

Grab the stars and food, then follow the path up a ladder to the door at its end.

Enter the door and eat the big sparkly guy to gain a super ability.

Use the super ability to destroy things with glowing stars on them and clear the path.

When you reach a large rock formation covered in Waddle Dees, smash it to open a star gate.

Enter the star gate for an auto-scrolling section. Keep running to the right. The purple substance will push you; you can spit stars at it to temporarily deter it, but the main strategy is to keep moving. A good general strategy for these auto-scrolling sections is to inhale a large object, spit it out, and chase it to clear the path ahead.

Enter the door at the end of the auto-scrolling section.

Select either the Fire or Sword ability.

Move on and prepare to face a miniboss, the Sphere Doomer. Blast it to bits to obtain 2 [Energy Spheres].

Grab the tomato and jump into the gate.

After resurfacing, continue on and go through the final door to complete the stage.
