Learn how to defeat the Armor of Eraqus in KH 2.5 ReMIX. Strategies for Terra, Ventus, and Aqua, including countering ultimate attacks like Ensnare and Dancing Lights.

The Armor of Eraqus is a challenging boss in KH 2.5 ReMIX, fought in the Mirage Arena. It has two phases, with Phase I changing based on the character you play as.

Phase I - Terra

When playing as Terra, the Armor of Eraqus uses Critical Impact and Rockbreaker Command Styles, featuring downward slashes that create shockwaves. Its ultimate move binds Terra and pulls up a chunk of the area before blasting it with light; continuously press the displayed button to break free.

Phase I - Ventus

As Ventus, the Armor of Eraqus uses the Fever Pitch Command Style with flying slashes. Use Payback Raid to deal damage and gain invincibility. The ultimate attack summons several tornadoes; Dodge Roll past them.

Phase I - Aqua

When playing as Aqua, the boss uses the Spellweaver Command Style with Barrier Surge attacks. Fire Pillars require repeated Cartwheels to avoid. The Dancing Lights attack, where the Armor of Eraqus surrounds itself with moving light energy, requires precise Cartwheel timing in large circles. The ultimate move summons different colored lights onto quadrants of the area, requiring constant Cartwheeling to avoid status effects.

Phase II

Phase II begins when the Armor of Eraqus ensnares the character with a seal. Rotate the control stick to break free; attacking will result in being stunned. The boss's speed increases, and it uses quick slashes like Zantetsuken. Use Shotlocks regularly to prevent stuns. When the seal on its back disappears, the Armor of Eraqus returns to Phase I for the respective character. The battle alternates between these two phases. Block and use Shotlock until Phase I resumes.

How to Counter

  • Magical orbs can be reflected back. This attack is telegraphed by a lack of movement and a noticeable build-up.
  • For Dancing Lights, move far away to ignore the attack as it has a limited range.
  • The Keyblade Seeker attack, where Keyblades launch from a spiral center, is best guarded against.
  • Fire Pillars can be guarded or dodge-rolled away from.
  • The Ensnare attack can be avoided. It is fired three times, but if caught, focus on guarding the powerful combo that follows. Watch for the boss to raise its hand as a signal for Ensnare during a combo.
