Alright, welcome to The Dead Bog! Don't let the name scare you; it's a pretty straightforward level once you know what you're doing. We've got some collectibles to snag and a boss at the end, so let's get started.

Walkthrough

Start by walking through the canyon until you reach the first clearing.

Right at the beginning, before the clearing, you'll see a fallen knight. Inspect his body to find Life Gem #2.

In the middle of this first clearing, there's another corpse. Check it to find a scroll. It's worth reading in your Travel Book for some lore.

As the camera focuses on a ledge, jump up to it and shimmy across. Then, jump over the gap and drop down on the other side.

You'll encounter your first Goblin. If it throws a grenade, you can either throw it back with the Right Trigger or just use your Combat Cross to destroy the Goblin – the latter is usually easier. Keep defeating Goblins until a cutscene plays.

Remember that scroll you found? It tells you about the Naiads in the bog. When you see bubbles coming from the water, stop moving! If you're caught in them, you'll be attacked. You'll need to complete a ring sequence to escape their ambush.

After bubbles, you'll see ripples. It's generally safe to cross when you see ripples, but it's *always* safe when the water is undisturbed. This calm moment is brief, though, as bubbles will appear right after.

Also, keep an eye out for green clouds on the sides of the bog. These are poisonous and will kill you if you get too close.

You'll reach an island in the middle of the bog. Here, you have a choice: the right path or the left path. I highly recommend taking both, which means you'll have to backtrack later, but both paths have valuable items.

Let's take the left path first. Wade through the bog until you reach the other side. Heal at the Health Font and head up the stairs.

Fight a few Goblins, then follow the path to the right. Hop over a fallen tree trunk to enter another bog area.

Wade through this bog towards the island with the giant dinosaur skeleton.

Life Gem #3 is located here. On the left path, head up the stairs, follow the trail to the right, jump over the tree trunk, and crawl through the bog towards the island with the giant skeleton. Inspect the corpse on the island to find the Life Gem.

Head back to where you fought the Goblins earlier. This time, proceed north. Go through the water and continue until you find another Health Font. Refill your health here.

Follow the trail from the Health Font to another pool of water. Go straight ahead; going right will just lead you back to the dinosaur skeleton.

You'll come across a third Health Font. It's at a dead end, so if you don't need it, just continue through the bog and jump off the edge. This will lead you to an area with a dead tree, marking the end of the left path.

Now, backtrack to the fork where you chose your path and take the right path.

Go up the stairs and follow the trail. Drop off the first ledge and go through the water.

On the other side, drop down from the second ledge. Here, walk to the right and hug the wall to find a hidden cave.

Life Gem #4 is inside this hidden cave. At the first intersection, take the right path. Climb the stairs, drop off the first ledge, and crawl through the water to reach a second ledge. Fall down and walk to the right, hugging the wall. You'll find a hidden cave with the Life Gem.

Deal with the Goblins that show up in the cave and then exit with your reward.

Continue forward, and you'll find another bog on the left. If you try to go through the water here, you'll end up back at the dinosaur skeleton area you visited on the left path. This confirms that the paths merge here.

From the land, continue forward and drop down a third ledge to reach a dead end. For the record, taking the left path also leads to this same area, so the two paths definitely meet here.

You'll need to kill a Goblin using a grip attack. Then, use the grenade it dropped on the nearby tree. This will uproot it.

Kill another Goblin, use its grenade on the tree again to knock it down.

Finish off any remaining enemies and climb across the downed tree.

On the island, go to the left to find another dead body with a scroll. Head back to the island and wade through the water (remember to avoid the Naiads!) to the other side.

The path to the mausoleum has more Goblins. At the fork, go right to find a Health Font guarded by a Goblin camp. Heal up here.

Head back to the fork and go left to reach the mausoleum.

Walk to the side of the mausoleum and climb up the ledges to squeeze inside. Approach the stand to get the Hook Tip. This relic gives your Combat Cross the ability to act as a grappling hook.

Drop down and use the Hook Tip on the glowing blue grip point on the ceiling. Press the Right Trigger to climb up the wall, then tap X or Y to smash through the window.

As Gabriel exits the mausoleum, you'll be ambushed by the Swamp Troll!

BOSS: Swamp Troll

This big guy has been following you, and now he's decided to fight. He'll use the tombstones in the area to attack you. Most of his swings can be dodged by rolling side-to-side. When he does a ground pound, jump over the shockwave.

Tips

Don't forget to read the scrolls you find; they offer useful lore and hints.
Always be mindful of the Naiad attacks in the water – look for bubbles and be ready to react.
The poisonous green clouds are instant death, so steer clear!
Taking both the left and right paths at the island is highly recommended for the extra items.
Use the environment! Grenades are key for uprooting trees and dealing with certain enemies.
The Hook Tip is essential for progressing after the mausoleum.
