The Research and Discovery system in Astroneer guides players through the game's mechanics and progression. By completing various missions, players are rewarded with Bytes, Schematics, and essential items that aid in their journey across the planets.

Mission Log: The Mission Log, accessible via the Landing Pad or Logistics Depots, or through the action wheel, tracks your progress. It has sections for Rewards, Tracked, Active, Reclaimable, and Complete missions. Completing missions unlocks new ones and provides valuable resources.

Mission Types: Missions range from basic survival and resource gathering to more complex tasks involving crafting, exploration, and interacting with alien elements.
