Master the strategies for defeating tough Super-Villains like Carnage, Carrion, Demogoblin, Doppleganger, and Shriek in Marvel Snap. Learn their attack patterns and weaknesses.
Super-Villains in Marvel Snap are formidable foes whose combined tenacity is increased tenfold. Each presents unique challenges requiring specific tactics to overcome.
Carnage: This lunatic is a major pain. He attacks by rushing, flailing his arms, or by leaping off-screen to stomp on you. When he rushes, move around him and attack from behind, or use your special attack repeatedly. When he leaps, move immediately as he deals significant damage. Regular combos are possible if you're quick, but your special move is often the best bet. Avoid getting too close and wait for openings, as his patterns are unpredictable. If he attacks from behind, backflip and combo him.
Carrion: He attacks in tandem with other Super-Villains and hovers, occasionally ducking to suck your energy. Jump around to get him off. Backflips are effective. To damage him when he's alone, use straight-up jump kicks when nearby, but not when he's directly above you, as he'll drain your energy. He only takes damage on every other kick. If other Super-Villains are present, avoid Carrion while attacking them, or use aerial-damaging Super-Heroes like Spidey or Venom.
Demogoblin: Fight him on the ground or in the air. On the ground, a regular combo might work if you're just in reach; otherwise, use your special attack before he drains your energy. Rushing attacks can work, especially in combos. When flying high, jump kick him down, but avoid him if he flies low. He often throws pumpkin bombs when flying high, which are usually telegraphed. In the "Chase" stage with Spider-Man, web sling and jump kick him.
Doppleganger: He can be hit with regular combos or rushing attacks when nearby. Rushing attacks often knock him down, making them useful for attacking other villains. He attacks with projectiles from afar, rush kicks at medium range, grabs up close, or web-swings to kick you if you jump a lot. If he crouches and dashes towards you, use your special attack, or quickly move out of the way.
Shriek: Her patterns change throughout the game. Early on, fight her alone and attack her. She is the only Super-Villain you can grab with your web extension to prevent her sonic blasts. She shoots horizontal sonic blasts at screen distance; move when you see this. Later, she uses vertical blasts to launch herself into the air and land on you, blasting you. Either move quickly or stay put and use your special attack.
