Universal Controls Notes

  • Perfect Dodge: Grants invincibility and slows time, enabling unique attacks for Copy Abilities. Can be activated by dodging into attacks, but not all enemies trigger it.
  • Crouch Guard: Can be held to buffer, becoming active whenever grounded (unless sleeping). This makes dodging easier.
  • Inhaling Bigger Enemies: Holding the inhale button allows Kirby to gobble larger foes like Buffahorn. Bosses and minibosses may need to be weakened first.
  • Advanced Slipping Maneuvers: Using the Slide Attack followed by a short-hop upon landing is a quick way to move.
  • No Hiccup Hero: Pressing the Swallow button midair while Kirby is inhaling something allows for an instant Swallow, similar to the auto-swallow toggle.
  • Exceptions: Crouch Guard, Perfect Dodge, and Slide Attack generally apply to most Copy Abilities, but not the Sleep ability.
