Blades of Chaos Combos & Techniques

The Blades of Chaos: Kratos's signature weapon, these chained blades are versatile for both close-quarters combat and ranged attacks. They are obtained early in the game and are central to Kratos's offensive capabilities.

Square Button (Light Attack): Rapid slashes that can quickly build up combos and stagger weaker enemies.

Triangle Button (Heavy Attack): Slower, more powerful strikes that can break enemy guards and deal significant damage.

Initiate by pressing X (Jump) followed by Square or Triangle. Allows Kratos to attack enemies from above, useful for crowd control and reaching airborne foes.

Hold R1 to charge the Blades and throw them. Can be used to pull enemies closer, trigger environmental hazards, or damage enemies from a distance.

L1 + Square (Blade Vortex): Kratos spins the Blades around him, damaging all nearby enemies. Excellent for clearing groups.

L1 + Triangle (Blade Fury): A powerful, multi-hit attack that can decimate single targets or groups.

L1 + X (Blade Dash): Kratos lunges forward with the Blades, closing distance quickly and dealing damage.

After performing a certain number of hits, Kratos can unleash an orbital attack by pressing Circle. This creates a powerful shockwave that damages and stuns enemies.

Combine Blade attacks with Kratos's magic for devastating effects. For example, using the Nemean Cestus (a secondary weapon) after a Blade combo can create powerful shockwaves.

Throughout the game, Kratos can find or purchase upgrades for the Blades of Chaos, increasing their damage, range, and unlocking new combo possibilities. Prioritize upgrading the Blades to enhance combat effectiveness.
