Key Items

Key Items in God of War: Sons of Sparta are divided into two categories: those that permanently increase your Health, Magic, and Fire gauges, and those required to progress the plot.

  • Gorgon Eyes: Collecting five Gorgon Eyes grants a Health boost. Fifteen Gorgon Eyes will max out your HP.
  • Phoenix Feathers: Collecting five Phoenix Feathers grants a Magic boost. Fifteen Phoenix Feathers will max out your MP.
  • Minotaur Horns: Collecting five Minotaur Horns grants a Fire boost. Fifteen Minotaur Horns will max out your Fire.
  • Poseidon's Trident: Allows you to breathe underwater.
  • Automaton Gear: Allows you to open doors and activate switches that require a Gear.
  • Key of Crete: Allows you to open Gates in Heraklion.
  • Skull of Keres: Allows you to open the Domain of Death's portal.

Collectibles

There are six Collectibles in God of War: Sons of Sparta. Their effects can only be used if you start a new game on the same difficulty or lower and choose to use your previous saved data.

  • Callisto's Armlet: Found on the ground after defeating the Boss Callisto. When replaying the game, this item automatically wins all Quick Time Event (QTE) minigames.
  • Athena's Owl: Found near where Kratos destroys Athena's statue. When replaying the game, this item helps you find chests.
  • Aphrodite's Ambrosia: Acquired after winning the sex minigame in Sparta three times. This item grants the most powerful attack, Might of Sparta.
  • The King's Ring: Found where King Midas touches lava. When replaying the game, this item grants 10x the normal amount of Red Orbs.
  • The Bonds of Ares: Found on the ground immediately upon entering the Domain of Death. When replaying the game, this item grants infinite Magic.
  • Gravedigger's Shovel: Acquired after purchasing all unlockables in the Temple of Zeus. You need at least 1,000,000 Red Orbs to obtain it. This item allows you to play as the Gravedigger in the Combat Arena.

Challenge of the Gods

God of War: Sons of Sparta features challenges that provide new gameplay after beating the main story. The difficulty of these challenges is equivalent to the difficulty of your last saved game data.

  • Challenge of Ares:
    • Six Ways to Die: Open all 6 chests in the arena without dying. Hint: Open chests quickly and use the Scourge of Erinys to distract enemies and Cyclops while opening the final chest.
