Alright, so we're jumping ahead a little bit here in the story, but don't worry, it's still the same day as the last mission. We're still waiting on Pierson, and honestly, everyone's getting a bit antsy. Turner's being super cagey about what went down with Pierson's last platoon, which is… interesting. Anyway, we get word that Pierson's already at Hill 493 with some other troops, trying to take it without us. Real smooth, Pierson.

Your squad rolls up shortly after, and the assault is already in full swing. Aiello's already taken a hit, but he's okay. He lets Turner know Pierson just couldn't wait for backup. Yeah, I'm sure this is going to be a total breeze and everyone will be laughing about it later.

OBJECTIVE UPDATE: CAPTURE THE HILL

Things kick off immediately. Turner's leading the charge, so just follow him. You'll spot an ammo crate and a health kit to your right right at the start. Grab 'em quick, because you'll already hear explosions and gunfire. The base of the hill is just around the corner to your left. Get into cover ASAP. There are a bunch of Nazis down there, but at least there are also plenty of our guys, so it should be a fair fight. Move up the hill slowly, and usually, someone will give you the signal when it's time to push forward. Clear out the enemies at the bottom, then move to the next line of cover up ahead. Use those big rocks and fallen trees for protection. Keep your head down and avoid unnecessary risks – there are Nazis all the way up. Honestly, there's no single 'best' way up, so just use whatever cover looks good. I found hugging the left side of the hill worked best for me, keeping the enemies in front and giving a good view of the whole slope. But hey, whatever works for you!

As you push up a bit, Turner will point out three MGs firing on your position and tell you to take them out. The gunners might be hidden, and Pierson's off doing his own thing, but don't worry – objective markers will pop up right over their heads. Even if you can't see them, just fire under those markers, and you should be able to neutralize them before they become a major threat. You'll get a verbal confirmation when you hit one, and the marker will disappear, so you'll know exactly when they're down.

HEROIC ACTION #16: 1 out of 2 on Hill 493 (16/23)

Not long after you deal with the MGs, you'll hear someone yelling for help. Keep pushing up the hill a bit further, staying to the left. You'll find a small path between two rocks with a fallen tree leaning across it. The soldier calling for help is right there. Take a quick break from the firefight to pull him behind some rocks, then get back to the action.

Once you've cleared out any remaining enemies, keep moving forward along the path until you link up with the rest of your squad. Turner and Pierson will have a quick chat – I'm guessing this argument isn't over. Up ahead, there's a pillbox that needs taking care of. Pierson wants you to escort the engineer up there so he can blow it sky-high.

OBJECTIVE UPDATE: ESCORT THE ENGINEER

You'll need to press [SQUARE] to signal the engineer you're ready.Warning: If you do this while you're under heavy fire, he'll get taken out almost immediately after leaving cover. The trick here is to eliminate enemies as they pop up and lay down suppressive fire towards the pillbox. This will stop the MG from firing on the engineer when he makes his move. Luckily, your squad will let you know when the MG fire has been suppressed. Use that window to get the engineer to the next piece of cover. Keep firing at the MG even after he's moved to keep them from opening up again while he's on the move.

At first, you can send him behind the next tree without much worry; he should be safe there. Then, move up to where he is and focus fire on the MG to suppress it. When you get the signal that the fire is suppressed, send him to the next tree. For this next push, just hit the MG again to stop its firing and send the engineer on his way. This time, he'll dive behind a rock, and some Nazi soldiers will emerge from a trench. Use nearby cover to take out these guys – they're conveniently out in the open and not using much cover themselves. Suppress the MG one more time and move the engineer up to the next rock. From here, it's a sprint to the finish, but you'll still need to make sure the area is clear and the MG in the bunker is suppressed. Send him up one last time to plant the explosives, then fall back to cover and watch the fireworks.

If the engineer gets hit at any point, you'll have to pick up the explosive charge yourself. Rely on your squad for suppressive fire and use the same cover spots the engineer would have used to advance. Stick to the right side of the screen; there are two large rocks there that the engineer usually uses, offering great cover. When you get close enough, just sprint forward and plant the charge. Retreat to a safe distance and enjoy the explosion.

TROPHY/ACHIEVEMENT: SUPPRESSIVE FIRE! Bronze Trophy or 10G

Successfully escort the poll charge engineer to the pillbox in Hill 493.

You can still get this trophy if the engineer falls and you pick up the charge yourself, but you'll earn a shiny new trophy if you manage to escort him all the way.
